Multimedia SIGi: What's up for 2006
With 2005 behind us (or virtually behind us depending on when this gets published) it's time to say good-bye to our third year and start planning our fourth. That's right, we had our first official Apple Multimedia SIG User Group meeting in 2003 so this is the
We had a busy 2005, and while we didn't get to cover every topic we had hoped, overall it seems the year was successful. We added a few new faces and some of the familiar veterans made numerous appearances and presentations at our regular monthly meetings. Thanks to everyone who came out in 2005 to attend, and a special thank you to those who took the time out of their busy schedules to put together presentations both large and small. It's grass-roots contributions from our members that makes the Multimedia group a success!
What about 2006? Certainly we'll be tackling a broad range of interesting subjects ranging from Apple's new Aperture software
to whatever the latest and greatest widget is we can get our hands on. We'll continue with our live demo's that illustrate both the 'why' and 'how to' behind successful and not so successful projects (remember, we learn as much from failures as we do from successes). And of course our interactive Question & Answer format will still be there as a valuable learning tool and method of tapping into all the knowledge that everyone brings into the room. But what else?
It seemed important to do something a little bit special to kick off our Senior year with a bang. In that spirit we wondered just what types of things might help our membership grow in number and what might be of value to extend our virtual community.
With that in mind, we're getting ready to show a little leg at this month's (January) main Macintech meeting so come on by for a sneak peak. We'll be sporting a logo (notice we didn't say 'new' logo since we never had one), and taking a peak at our new website intended to be an online community for Multimedia members to share thoughts, ideas, hints, tips and dreams of projects to come. Of course, if you're reading this on the new website then you've already had a sneak peak of sorts
We're looking forward to 2006 and bringing a new, fresh, face to the Multimedia SIG and we look forward to seeing both our long time members and new members join us as we roll out the new changes this year!
Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone.
Regards
