Apple Seminars on Podcasting

In this post on our site we provided information on a variety of Online Seminars hosted by Apple.

Well, they have a great one that novice and veteran podcasters should listen to titled The Podcast Recipe: Producing a Successful Show external website link From that link you need to register to view the content (it's free).

The total time just under 90 minutes and it covers the three core aspects of putting together a great podcast

  • Perform
  • Produce
  • Promote

Apple has done a great job bringing in some very talented folks to help explain those various key concepts. If you're a veteran podcaster you can pickup some subtle hints and tips that might help you improve your production -- if you're a novice it'll help demystify the entire process.

For me it was well worth the 90 minutes to get some great big picture info along with some subtle tips that would have been easy to miss such as how to position and speak across a microphone or how to use existing items found in your home to create a better sounding podcast. Hint: think pillow and drapes Smile

While we don't all have access to those tools, it's worth watching the 25 minute episode feature Scott Wilke from Apple. It shows some interesting features on cleaning up audio and might give you some neat ideas for your own Audio and Video Podcasts

Apple Seminar on Podcasting

This is certainly worth anyone's time to watch. I found it quite helpful, although I would have liked more specific information about microphones (a big part of the Perform segment).
