April -- iPad Show and Tell!

You liked "show and tell" when you were a kid, right? Come join us for the grown-up version on Thursday, April 22, at 6:30 pm, at the usual place: the Metrum Credit Union.

Those of us who have iPads will bring them to show off and pass around. We'll talk about what we love and what we're doing with these seductive devices. Those without iPads can get their hands on ours (and drool). Join us for the fun!

February -- Analog to Digital Audio Done Right!

Join us Thursday, February 25, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union. Mark Stevenson will be telling us about his four-step method for transferring favorite "golden oldies" (as in records and tapes) to digital format with the highest possible quality. 'Fess up -- you have some of those old LPs sitting around, don't you? And wouldn't it be nice if they were on your Mac instead? Come see how it's done!

January -- Get Serious about Your iPhone Camera!

Join us on Thursday, January 28, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union. Craig Lewis and Chris Domino will be talking about getting the most out of the photos you take with your iPhone or iPod Touch camera. There are a number of apps now available to retouch photos, share them, or turn them into funnies -- we'll show a variety of effects! We'll use a document camera so that everyone can see a projection of our iPhones and watch exactly what we're doing.

July 2010 -- Adobe Lightroom 3

Join us for our July 22 meeting at the Metrum Credit Union at 6:30 p.m. Craig will share all the new features of Lightroom 3 -- one of his favorite programs. Come see what the new bells and whistles are!

We had talked about having Dan Ross present sometime soon on the subject of digital video, but he's been snapped up by MacinTech officers to present that topic at the August MacinTech meeting. Make sure you put the August 10 meeting on your "must do" list!

June 2010 -- Aperture 3

Join us on Thursday, June 24, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union. Craig will be showing us the features of Aperture 3, the latest upgrade to Apple's program for serious photographers. Join us to get all the ins and outs of this version!

March 2010 -- Become an iTunes Expert!

Join us on Thursday, March 25, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union! We'll be sharing tips for using iTunes and all of its features. Everyone is welcome to chime in with their favorite techniques and shortcuts. Make sure your bring your questions -- a lot of queries came up last month, and this is your chance to get some answers.

May -- Books in Other Forms!

Join us Thursday, May 27, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union for a presentation about reading and listening to books -- in all kinds of forms except the printed page.

We will be talking about acquiring and managing ebooks and audiobooks; using iTunes for your collection; and reading or listening on your computer, iPhone, Kindle, and iPad. Mark will be bringing examples, but I encourage all of you to bring your stories about how you read beyond the page.

Movieman Dan, Part Two

Join us Thursday, August 26th, at the Metrum Credit Union for a more detailed presentation from Dan about multimedia on the Mac. Break free from the cable company and enjoy your media over the Internet, on your Mac, your iPad, your iPhone, and your Apple TV. We'll start at 6:30 pm, and we hope to see you there.

October 2010 -- The New Apple TV

Join us on Thursday, October 28, at 6:30 pm at Metrum for Mark's presentation on the new Apple TV. He will bring a TV as well, so we can see exactly what this new gadget can do!

This will be the last Multimedia SIGi this year (you didn't really want to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas with us, did you?), so we will also talk about topics for next year.

September 2010 -- Making the Most of iPhoto

We've talked about workflow in Aperture and Lightroom -- iPhoto is the photo editor for the rest of us! See what's new in the iLife 09 version, learn how to capture your photos and organize them, and look at some great "show and tell" examples of what you can do with the program! Remember, the gift-giving season is around the corner, and now is a great time to get started on those books and calendars.
Join us on Thursday, September 23, at 6:30 pm at the Metrum Credit Union. All are welcome to bring their examples of what they've done in iPhoto!
